Comparison with other markets
This page compares what public documentation says about seller listing signatures on other inscription marketplaces. It is limited to documents we could open and quote. It is not a survey of all marketplaces, and it says nothing about the security of any marketplace beyond what the cited text states. Documentation describes intended design, which we have not tested.
| Marketplace | Chain | Seller listing signature (as documented) | Where the signed listing is kept (as documented) | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Doginal Dogs Marketplace | Dogecoin | 0x82 (SIGHASH_NONE|ANYONECANPAY) in client code; a comment in the same file describes SIGHASH_SINGLE|ANYONECANPAY | Not documented publicly. Client code refers to a listing template field. We did not find public documentation of storage or access rules. | Technical explainer, evidence |
| Doge Soft Art (beta, documented as live on mainnet since 2026-10-15) | Dogecoin | 0x83 (SINGLE|ANYONECANPAY) for list and auction start; the buyer signs 0x01 (ALL) | Documentation says listings are kept server-side and are not sent to a browser; buyers sign a copy without the seller’s signature and the server joins the two | docs.dogesoft.io/marketplace |
| OpenOrdex (open-source order format) | Bitcoin | Sell-order PSBT with one input and one output, signed with SIGHASH_SINGLE|ANYONECANPAY | The signed PSBT is published as the content of a Nostr event | NIP.md |
| ORD.NET | Bitcoin | Seller signs the sale transaction with SIGHASH_SINGLE|ANYONECANPAY; the marketplace also signs the inscription input with SIGHASH_DEFAULT, committing to the full transaction | Not specified on the page we read | docs.ord.net |
How to read the table
- In each documented design other than the Doginal Dogs client code, the seller signature fixes the seller’s own payment output (SINGLE) and the table says so in the cited text. The Doge Soft Art documentation states the effect directly: such a signature authorizes “this Doginal for this price, paid to me.”
- The 0x82 type commits to no outputs. With such a signature the protection of a listing depends on other controls, for example on who can obtain the signed listing. We did not find documentation of those controls for the Doginal Dogs Marketplace (see open questions).
- The OpenOrdex format publishes signed sell orders openly. We read this as an example of a design in which a published signature remains bound to its stated price, because that is how SINGLE|ANYONECANPAY is described.
We have not tested any of these other marketplaces and make no claim about their security. If you operate one of them and the description above is wrong, please use the corrections process.
